The ideal candidate will be passionate about managing residential development and construction projects and will take ownership of projects by being responsible for the project delivery process and accountable for the implementation and realization of projects
This newly created position will report directly to the executive team

Yee Hong Seniors Living Inc. (YHSL), is a young company, jointly owned by two charitable organizations, that focuses on developing, building and operating culturally‐appropriate seniors living communities. Miri Koller and Andy Bicanic, seasoned experts in the development and operation of retirement communities, are respectively the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Development Officer for Yee Hong Seniors Living.

Director of (Construction) Projects will be responsible for:
Overseeing the portfolio of seniors living construction projects
Actively participating in an interdisciplinary team that manages seniors living projects through the entire development process (feasibility/initial design, planning, applications and approvals, design development, constructability, permits, pre‐construction, construction and closings)
Coordinating communication between an integrated development and construction team
Managing project schedules, budgets and contracts
Establishing and managing best practices in project management processes and systems
Assisting with a variety of miscellaneous projects, including preparation of reports, RFP responses, coordination, and other related assignments as required
Ensuring proper Health & Safety procedures are followed and report any incidents and/or hazards
Participating in the creation and maintenance of complex pro forma models
Planning, organizing, directing and managing all facets of construction projects and ensuring pre‐established costs, schedule, quality and scope objectives are achieved
Involvement in construction and term financing of projects and exposure to operations
Creating sound relationships with colleagues, clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers to promote YHSL mission
The Successful Applicant
The successful Director of (Construction) Projects will demonstrate:
10+ years of experience (at least 3 in a leadership/management/project lead position) project managing complex mid- and high-rise residential construction projects in Ontario either for a CM/Owner/Architecture firm; experience working on seniors living projects considered a critical asset
Architectural degree and registered Architect with the OAA
A thorough understanding of the complete design and construction cycle, contract, schedule and quality management
In‐depth design/construction knowledge and ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings and technical reports
Exceptional financial, project and time management abilities, with demonstrated experience undertaking concurrent tasks and managing multiple projects
Proficiency/working design knowledge in CAD and Revit
Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat/Creative Suite, Microsoft Office; good use of Excel, advanced knowledge of MS Project, and using Word and PowerPoint to present information
Proficiency with OBC as it relates to residential and retirement projects
Strong written and spoken English communication skills
Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships and resolve complex issues
A stable career history as well as a track record of successfully completed projects (start‐to‐finish)
Ability to work as a leader in a team environment and be a trusted advisor at all levels
What's on Offer
A competitive salary (base $140‐165k depending on qualifications and experience) in addition to bonus and benefits package.
