Yee Hong launches new subsidiary to develop
independent living communities for seniors
Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care and Yee Hong Community Wellness Foundation announced the launch of Yee Hong Seniors Living Inc., a subsidiary jointly owned by the two charitable organizations that will focus on developing, building and operating culturally-appropriate seniors living communities.
Since its inception in 1994, Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care has provided culturally appropriate long-term care and a spectrum of community support services to seniors and their caregivers in the Greater Toronto Area. About 26,000 seniors and their family members are served by Yee Hong annually.
“With the launch of Yee Hong Seniors Living, we are taking another momentous step towards broadening our continuum of services to meet the needs of seniors at every stage of their lives,” said Dr. Joseph Wong, Yee Hong’s Founder and Board Chair of Yee Hong Community Wellness Foundation.
Miri Koller and Andy Bicanic, seasoned experts in the development and operation of retirement communities, have been appointed respectively as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Development Officer for Yee Hong Seniors Living.
Miri has over 14 years of seniors living expertise and previously served as the President of another retirement home organization, building the organization from the ground up. Andy has 23 years of real estate development experience and has worked with Ms. Koller in the last four years building retirement communities.
